★ Terms of Service
The agreement between us.
Last updated: May 7, 2026
These Terms of Service govern use of the UsedCarBase website (usedcarbase.com) and the vehicle export and ancillary services we provide. By submitting an inquiry, signing a sales agreement, or commissioning a container, you agree to these terms.
1. About Us
UsedCarBase is a specialised used-vehicle export service operated by a general trading company founded in 2011 with twenty-six years of international trade experience and twenty-three years of dedicated Ghana market focus. We source vehicles in southern China (primarily Foshan, Guangdong) and ship them to Tema, Ghana for delivery to buyers across West Africa with a primary focus on Ghana.
2. Services We Offer
Two service models on the China side:
- Self-Operated: we source, inspect, document, load, ship, clear customs, and hand over the vehicle.
- Agency Export: you source the vehicle yourself; we provide export, shipping, and Tema clearance infrastructure.
Both models include China-side documentation, container loading on video, sea freight coordination, Tema port clearance, and Accra (or other Ghana city) handover. Engine and transmission warranty (six to twelve months depending on vehicle age and mileage) is included on Self-Operated vehicles in writing with the bill of sale.
3. Pricing
Vehicle prices on this website are quoted in USD on a CIF Tema (Cost, Insurance, Freight to Tema port) basis. Ghana import duty, port handling fees, clearance fees, and final delivery charges are not included in the website price — they are itemised separately on your invoice based on Ghana customs schedules in effect at the time of clearance.
The Ghana Cedi (GH₵) display option is calculated using the USD-to-GHS exchange rate set in our system and is provided for reference only. Actual transactions are settled in USD via bank transfer unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4. Payment Terms
- 30% deposit on confirmed order to lock the vehicle and container slot.
- 70% balance due before bill of lading is released to consignee.
- USD bank transfer is standard. Alternative payment methods (Cedi to local bank, USD via SWIFT, stablecoin for select dealer relationships) are available case-by-case and confirmed in writing.
- All bank charges are borne by the buyer.
5. Vehicle Inspection & Documentation
Every vehicle we ship under the Self-Operated model passes a 150-point pre-shipment inspection by our China-side mechanic, documented in a written report shared with you before container loading. Independent third-party inspection is available on request and arranged on a project basis with established inspection providers; the cost is itemised on your invoice and the third-party report is shared directly with you.
Container loading is documented on video. The video file is sent to you before the ship leaves port. The vehicle in the video is the vehicle that arrives. There is no second container with a different car.
6. Shipping & Transit
Average sea transit Foshan to Tema is 28 days. Actual transit may vary by vessel schedule, weather, and port conditions. Bill of lading, tracking number, and arrival ETA are shared with you on day one of shipment.
We coordinate with established freight forwarders. Risk passes to the buyer at the port of loading per Incoterms CIF rules; marine insurance covering the China-to-Tema transit is included in the CIF price. Insurance for after-Tema inland transport, if required, is the buyer's responsibility unless we have agreed in writing to arrange it.
7. Warranty
Self-Operated vehicles include engine and transmission warranty in writing for six to twelve months, depending on vehicle age and mileage at sale. The warranty term is stated explicitly on the bill of sale. Coverage:
- Major mechanical failure of engine or transmission attributable to pre-existing condition not disclosed at sale
- Coordination with vetted Accra / Kumasi / Tamale mechanics for repair
- Spare parts sourcing assistance (cost of parts is buyer's responsibility unless covered specifically)
Exclusions: damage from accident, misuse, neglect of routine maintenance, modification by third parties, or use outside intended specifications. Agency Export vehicles are not warrantied by UsedCarBase — warranty terms (if any) are between you and your original seller.
8. Disputes & Discrepancies
If a delivered vehicle materially differs from the documented condition at loading (engine status, mileage, accident history, body condition), notify us within seven days of delivery via WhatsApp with photos and supporting documentation. We will work with you to resolve through:
- Repair coverage if the discrepancy is within warranty scope
- Discount or partial refund if repair is impractical
- Replacement on the next available container if vehicle is materially unfit
For unresolved disputes, parties agree to attempt good-faith mediation before initiating legal proceedings. Jurisdiction: courts of Ghana for buyer-initiated claims; courts of the People's Republic of China for company-initiated claims unless mutually agreed otherwise.
9. Limitations
UsedCarBase is not liable for: (a) Ghana import duty calculations made by Ghana customs authorities, which may vary from our pre-quote estimate; (b) port congestion, vessel schedule changes, or other shipping delays beyond our reasonable control; (c) loss of business profits, consequential damages, or indirect losses arising from delays or vehicle issues; (d) the actions of third-party clearing agents, mechanics, or service providers we may refer (referrals are convenience, not endorsement liability).
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes affecting active inquiries or contracted orders will be communicated to affected parties directly. Continued use of our services after notification constitutes acceptance.
